Cruises are usually known to be quite an expensive, posh way of spending your holiday. I am also surprised to hear that airlines didn't recover from the crises as soon as hotels did. After all, I find a flight to be cheaper than a train/car trip.

Kuala Lumpur Hotels

I am not surprised to hear about hotels, but I am surprised to hear about cruises. People still go away for the holidays so they need hotels. What they don't need is pay for an airplane ticket so they chose a destination closer to home where they can go by train, bus or using their personal car. As for car rentals, those prices were too high even when there wasn't an economical crisis.
________________
Mathew Farney - Web Hosting

Hotels were bound to pick up their economy faster than air lines or car rentals.
